What is Maven Gig?
Maven Gig, part of Maven Car Sharing, is a service that allows members to easily participate in the freelance economy without worrying about owning a car. Freelancers can reserve a vehicle for as little as one week to earn money however they want, including rideshare and delivery. Unlimited miles, insurance, maintenance and 24/7 roadside assistance are included. Maven Gig cars are available in the following markets.

You can use the app to easily rent a car via the Maven app for a fixed weekly rate. This means rideshare drivers can rent a car instead of buying a completely new one for their rideshare business or putting wear and tear on their personal car.
How does Maven Gig Work?
Driving with Maven is a pretty simple process. You just need to apply and be approved, make a reservation, and then pick up your car. Simple!
1 Sign Up
Signing up for Maven is as easy as downloading the app and filling out the sign-up form. However, you will want to ensure that you meet the basic eligibility requirements before you sign up.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years old (19 in NYC)
- Possess a valid, U.S. state-issued driver’s license, which is not suspended, revoked or restricted in the past 5 years.
- Have valid TLC license (in NYC only)
- Must have a valid credit or debit card. (no gift cards or prepaid cards)
- Meet the eligibility requirements in the Member Agreement
2 Verify your account and set-up your membership
Once you have downloaded the app and sign up, you’ll just need to verify your account from your email and finish setting up your membership. Remember, signing up for Maven Gig is free. You don’t pay a dime until you actually reserve a car.
Note that you’ll need a valid drivers license in order to verify your membership and get setup. But you DO NOT need to be an approved rideshare driver (though you probably should be!).
3 Make a reservation
The approval process for Maven Gig is quick, so in no time at all you’ll be ready to drive. But first, you’ll need to pick your car.
You can reserve the exact car you want directly in the app. Pick the car and schedule a pick up time. Once you reserve, Maven Gig will pre-authorize your payment method for $250 and run a check on your driving history to make sure you are eligible. You will receive a confirmation email once everything is clear and ready to go!
Maven let’s rideshare drivers rent out cars one week at a time. Pricing varies by market and vehicle type. The weekly price is all in and includes things like insurance, maintenance, servicing, and depreciation.
4 Pick up your car and go!
Once you’ve gone through the process of securing your first reservation, all you need to do is pick up your ride!
You can easily set-up an appointment at your local pick up spot in the app. You’ll just need to show your license and credit card used to reserve the car upon pick up.
When would you use Maven Gig?
The big question that many rideshare drivers have is when should you be using Maven Gig?
Maven Gig is a great option if you are a full time rideshare driver and don’t want want to put wear and tear on your personal car. With all the insurance and routine maintenance included, it is a great option.
Maven also works for temporary replacement for when your car is disabled or in need of repair, or for brand new rideshare drivers that are just testing the waters to see how they like it.
